wtb: 78-86 4wd spring plates 1/2 or 3/4t
I need the front spring plates off of a corp 10 bolt axle. These are the parts that the front u-bolts run through. Not sure if I can use the sway bar and cross member or not, but please give me a price for with and without those parts.
Shipping to 48198 would also be appreciated. Thanks

Re: wtb: 78-86 4wd spring plates 1/2 or 3/4t
just a little FYI, there are two different axle tube diameters on dana 44s and the plates are not interchangable between the two. the tube sizes are 2 3/4 or 3 inch. not sure on a 10 bolt tube diameter. i found this out the hard way so hopefully it'll save you some trouble, i built a dana 44 from end to end and then found it was a "big tube 44" and i had a hell of a time finding plates that were affordable--at that time the dealer wanted about $200.00 for the pair.

Re: wtb: 78-86 4wd spring plates 1/2 or 3/4t
mike, you have a PM.
Jerry, I too figured this out the hard way, my 70 had the smaller diameter axle tubes, which is why I find myself in the current situation I am in....I measured the tubes at 2 15/16" but had my u-bolts bend to 3".....so I guess thats a good thing, (I already checked, the fit perfectly).

Re: wtb: 78-86 4wd spring plates 1/2 or 3/4t
i went out for a walk in my yard today and of the 20 dana 44 axles i put the tape on i only found 2 that are 2 3/4 all the rest are 3 inch. the 2 small axles are both under blazers so was it a blazer only axle?

Re: wtb: 78-86 4wd spring plates 1/2 or 3/4t
my axle was under a 3/4t truck, but it was a 1970, I figured it was probably an upgrade that came with the 71 model year?
