Smile I need pics please, what are these clips for?

I had my 402BB engine rebuilt and I have 3 clips that I don't remember where they go , I believe they go on the oil pan somewhere. 1-clip is metal and 2 1/2 inches long and has one bolt hole at one end and at the other end has 2 u shaped clips like to hold a line or something and the other 2 clips are the same, 2-inches long and one bolt hole at one end and u shaped with rubber at the other end like to hold a line or wiring? Can someone please tell me where they go or take some pics. Thank you very much.Dave

Sounds like they are the clips that bolt on the pass side of the oil pan and hold the tranny cooler lines in place.

Dave, cant help you out on exact location, but i can tell you the one with the rubber might be for your battery cable to the starter, the other 2 should be the tranny line holders, i am away from home right now so thats the most i can tell you

Re: I need pics please, what are these clips for?

This picture shows the tranny cooler lines bracket placement on my really greasy 71 350. The other smaller bracket is for the starter wiring, if I remember correctly. Not sure about the third bracket, if you post a picture of it I'm betting some one will know where it goes.

Both my trans cooling lines are the same size and they both fit in the bracket.

Do any of these brackets look like yours? Two of them had the rubber or vinyl type coating on the before they were cleaned up.

Re: I need pics please, what are these clips for?

Mine only had one of those. You can see where it was located if you look at the greasy engine photo. Just below and to the left of the engine block drain plug on the oil pan flange. It held the battery cable that goes to the starter.

Sorry I don't have any clue in regards to the second one you have. I'm sure someone else on this site will be able to help you out.
