Dipstick plug?
A while back I but a new crate motor in my truck and was wondering what you are supposed to use to plug the extra dipstick hole. It came with a hole in the block on each side so the dipstick could be installed on each side. Any suggestions?

Re: Dipstick plug?
Mine had what I think was a camshaft oil gallery plug in the block with rtv smeared over the top of it. I guess there is also two kinds of plugs ones that thread in and ones that get tapped in, mine was like the kind that get tapped in (no threads).

Mine came with a little metal plug that was to be hammered into the hole.

Re: Dipstick plug?
Mine came with a metal plug that was in a bag, so I could plug whichever hole was not being used. Make a plug out of bar stock and be sure that it is tight in the hole.
