Too much leafs
Hello folks,i know that this was discussed here before but i couldn´d find it!
How many leafs can i take out of my spring pack to get a smoother ride? Now there are 6 plus the overloadleaf and the ride was very stiff and bouncy from what i remember. When i rode it the last time it had 31x12.5 tires and old "outoiler" shocks, now the axle is flipped and it has 295/50s and belltech nitro drop shocks on! Yesterday we pulled the bed of to get the rest of the electrical lines on and fabricate an exhaustsystem, remove the driversside fueltank to get room for a LPG tank and that is the best time to get the springpack rearranged too! Re: Too much leafs
This thread (http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=196993) discussed a 8-leaf spring pack. In your case, I'd leave the overload and remove 1 (maybe 2) of the bottom-most leafs.
BTW, it's looks good.

Re: Too much leafs
If this will be pleasure only ride you dont need an overload spring. Some of your issue might be the bump stops hitting the frame all the time. If you did a flip kit you should have notched the frame.

Re: Too much leafs
@bigdan: here in germany i could get in trouble with the technical inspectors when i cut the frame or change the original specs!
There´s about 2,5 " of room between the bumpstops and the axletubes.I think that shouldn´t bottom out to bad!? |

Re: Too much leafs
You can pull 2 out of that pack and be ok.
