Turn signal acting weird w/van tilt.

The emergency flashers work fine. However, the actual turn signals are doing weird things. I just installed the tilt out of a 79 van. All worked great with non tilt column. When I turn on the turnsignal, the bulb lights very, very dim and then will flash brighter, but will take 2-3 seconds between flashes. I feel it is probably the switch.

Re: Turn signal acting weird w/van tilt.

try taking the connectors apart and spraying both halves with contact cleaner and see if that helps

Re: Turn signal acting weird w/van tilt.

A lot of the van columns come from WORK vans with lots of use and abuse. Many of them are covered with ashes, spilled drinks - soda, beer, coffee, etc. Try using an air hose to clean out the contacts.
