Transmission Options

Hey everyone,
My truck right now has a 350 trans. and a Np203 xfer case. But, I cant decide on keeping the 350 or switching to a manual. If I do decide to switch it out, what kind of trans. should I look for? I am building a 350 right now for it. And, I would like the trans. to bolt up to the 203 xfer case. Since I have already went and bought the shaft kit. Also, the truck has 4 inches of lift on it, but, I dont have a clue if I am going to keep it or not either.
Thanks,
Harvard

Re: Transmission Options

The 4 speed (sm465) that bolts to the 203 is going to be tough to find. If I remember right, I think that was a one year only deal in 1973. Then the 203 was paired only with the autos and the manuals got the 205.

You would be much better off with the 205, and they are very easy to find for under $250 for the trans and case.
