Should I buy it? 1967 short step?
My wife has given me permisson to purchase a 67 short wide step side truck. it is a I6 non running and needs about everythign. solid cab though and decent no indented bed fenders.
Going to look at it tomorrow the guy is only asking 900 bucks. Right now I have 69 short step 69 short wide 67 long wide 70 long wide and the 70 GMC sub. All are projects but I am looking into consolidating the cabs and front ends from the two longs onto the two shorts as the cabs on the shorts are shot. or I can possibly take this truck and sell the rest? I hate being indecicisive on these things. What i need to do is quit buying "deals" and work on one truck. Problem is unless I get the 70 and the 67 up and running no one will want them and the cabs on the 69's are so bad they make the rest of the trucks not worth alot. Any way I ramble too much. So going tomorrow to take some photos of the 900.00 67 short bed. Will post them later and get some feedback if possible. thanks, Thomas

Re: Should I buy it? 1967 short step?
I have a friend who has your same "addiction". Except he has probably close to 75 various vehicles now. I recently told him to pick one, focus and get it on the road. You should be able to recover much of your investments through parting out the trucks that are to far gone. Become a "parts vendor" right here on this board and show the little lady how you can make money from her perceptions of "junk".

in total I have about 8 67-72 chevy trucks in various states 3 F100 from the 50's 7-8 mustangs of various years and other odd and different cars that I have come across as free or almost free POS things. Think you are right as well Pick one and focus. Thanks, Who knows this 67 might be it. too bad the "invendory" as she calls it is 70 miles away. a bit to far to take orders and strip parts, unless I bring one here and then take it down to parts. I'll have to think about that...

Re: Should I buy it? 1967 short step?
You must be doing something wrong if you get permission before you buy a truck. I skip that part and move right to the asking for forgiveness.
PS, I wouldn't think twice if I had the chance to buy it. PPS, this isn't the place for heritics like chevybill . "pick one, focus and get it on the road" and I think there was even something about selling off the others too?? I just broke out in a cold sweat and I am hyperventilating.......

Re: Should I buy it? 1967 short step?
Yes, you should buy it. Excuse me while I go back and read the thread now.
Edit: If you are ever considering parting things out for cash, this would be a money maker if you can get it bought right. A solid cab, a set of solid step fenders, and a SWB frame willl recoup the majority of the purchase price if you can talk him down any at all. If you can't, or you don't want to part, then that non-running inliner is a GREAT excuse to build a big block project.

How about a 72 short step for $900? It runs and drives too!
