67-72 Chevy Trucks in Mexico
I am studying Spanish in Mexico right now and have been seeing some different looking beds on the rear of 67-72 and 73-87 Fleetside Chevy´s down here. Today I was walking around this little town outside of Morelia and finally got to look at one close. Take a look at how different the beds look!

Somehow, those beds look right yet wrong.Or,is it wrong yet right?Cool pictures, either way.
I`m curious, why would you need to go down there to learn Spanish? There`s plenty here to learn from.j/k.yet serious.

Re: 67-72 Chevy Trucks in Mexico
You can see where they just cut the back off and american bed and welded the other peices in. Like they did on the front of a longhorn.

The fender wells don't even look right, it is pretty cool though. I wonder why they have different beds?

Re: 67-72 Chevy Trucks in Mexico
These beds are of no kin to ours. They are foreign-born.The trucks get shipped down minus the bed. They have some similarities because they are made to go with the lines of the cab.I see the wheel opening as a mimmick of the pre-67 design,as well as the method of construction and design of the tailgate/latches.

Re: 67-72 Chevy Trucks in Mexico
I have seen several fleetside trucks with the regular style bed that we are used to as well. But for the most part on the 67-72 models, they have been the same as the one that I posted pictures of.
As far as the 73-87 models go, they are about 1/2 one way and 1/2 the other way. As far as learning Spanish is concerned that is true. But this has been a learning experience and somewhat of a vaction for me. I am pursuing a career in law enforcement, so learning how to say phrases like "Get your a** over here" in Spanish and then "Get your hands out of your pocket/Stop or I will shoot" will probably be important for me one day. The clases that I have taken are designed to teach you vocabulary that you will encounter in your particular field, mine being law enforcement! |

Yeah, and you can get more respect with the street lingo than text book.Do you have a southern drawl?
I`m not hatin` Chevrolexicans, just stating they`re not adapted or anything, they are their own breed or mix-breed,I guess.

Re: 67-72 Chevy Trucks in Mexico
Sounds good Aaron. In our area you will need to speak Spanish to do the job. I've been to several Spanish schools when I was a police officer, but only a week long. If I didn't look over my notes ever week or so then I'd forget it. I'm sure being there for the summer will help you retain it better.
Also, thanks for the pics.

Re: 67-72 Chevy Trucks in Mexico
I saw several of those while I was on our missions trip last month.
I was finally quick enough on the draw once to take a shot of one. http://threetimesholy.com/Mexico%202...R1-052-24A.jpg I don't know for sure, but I'd saw I saw more American style trucks than this style. |

Re: 67-72 Chevy Trucks in Mexico
More precisely,"Yo" is "I" and "quiero" is the proper conjugation in the "first person".Yo quiero la truka Chevrolet Mexicanos con custumizacion y mucho rapido en rojo.Eh heh heh,no no no,no quiero los "dingle balls" senior.

Re: 67-72 Chevy Trucks in Mexico
Special K:
I did not understand a word that you just said. But then again a lot of your posts were like that too: "Yo quiero la truka Chevrolet Mexicanos con custumizacion y mucho rapido,en rojo.Eh heh heh,no no no,no quiero los "dingle balls",senior." And in English, well sort of: "I`d like to get one a do up a custom "wtf?dbl-take" rod." Which I believe translates to " I would like to get one and do a custom "wtf or dbl-take" rod." |
