Front end swap question? 69 to a 67-68

I have a two 69 short bed trucks. I also have a 68 long bed.

Right now the style i see most people changing their trucks to is the 67/68 front end. (when they make a change)

Now my question is this. If you were going to purchase someone elses either truck or project would it matter more (have more value) to you if the truck was a true 67/68 or if it was a 69-72 with a 67-68 front end.

Or does the look overshadow the year?

Thanks,

For most people, I don't think it would matter unless they were going for an all original, numbers matching truck. I'm putting a 72 front end on my 69 Burb because I like the look and am not worried about the years matching.

So to purest it would matter but to anyone else a truck is a truck like the front end or not. Year and front end dont matter as much as they can be changed.

Thanks,

Re: Front end swap question? 69 to a 67-68

Unless you wanted an all original truck it wouldn't matter. As long as whatever front end it has is the one you like who cares.. Mine is a 69 and I have a 68 frontend for it. I talked to a guy who did a 70 into a 68 front end. He got tired of telling everyone that it was a 70 but changed the front sheet metal to a 68 and having to answer all kinds of questions, how hard was it, etc, etc.... Now he tells everyone it is just a 68, saves explaining to everyone

With the current market for these trucks and the customizing that a lot of people do, I really do not think that it will make a difference if it is a 72 prostreet, or a 72 prostreet with a 68 front end on it.

I wanted a 68, but I found a decent 70 for a decent price. Long story short, a 68 nose resides on the front of my 70.
