Front end swap question? 69 to a 67-68
I have a two 69 short bed trucks. I also have a 68 long bed.
Right now the style i see most people changing their trucks to is the 67/68 front end. (when they make a change) Now my question is this. If you were going to purchase someone elses either truck or project would it matter more (have more value) to you if the truck was a true 67/68 or if it was a 69-72 with a 67-68 front end. Or does the look overshadow the year? Thanks,

For most people, I don't think it would matter unless they were going for an all original, numbers matching truck. I'm putting a 72 front end on my 69 Burb because I like the look and am not worried about the years matching.

So to purest it would matter but to anyone else a truck is a truck like the front end or not. Year and front end dont matter as much as they can be changed.
Thanks,

Unless you wanted an all original truck it wouldn't matter. As long as whatever front end it has is the one you like who cares.. Mine is a 69 and I have a 68 frontend for it. I talked to a guy who did a 70 into a 68 front end. He got tired of telling everyone that it was a 70 but changed the front sheet metal to a 68 and having to answer all kinds of questions, how hard was it, etc, etc.... Now he tells everyone it is just a 68, saves explaining to everyone With the current market for these trucks and the customizing that a lot of people do, I really do not think that it will make a difference if it is a 72 prostreet, or a 72 prostreet with a 68 front end on it. I wanted a 68, but I found a decent 70 for a decent price. Long story short, a 68 nose resides on the front of my 70.
