Ball Joint + Tie-Rod Torque????
Looking for Torque Specs on upper and lower ball joint and inner and outter tie-rod ends.

Good question...I'm no help here...I just tightened mine to "That feels tight", but it sure would be nice to have a spec!

I asked a mechanic buddy of mine while I was changeing some parts during my power steering conversion. He looked at me and said " You're about the same size as me , tighten it till you fart". But we're not big guys, 5'10 / 155. Govern yourself accordingly. LOL

buy a factory service manual it list correct torque values and a whole lot more

lower ball joint: 40-60 ft lbs for 1/2 ton, 80-100 ft lbs for 3/4 or 1 ton upper ball joint: 50 ft lbs for 1/2 ton, 85 ft lbs for 3/4 or 1 ton ECE's were higher, I think 70 ft lbs for the upper and 120 ft lbs for the lower The torque spec I'm using on the tie rods is 41 ft lbs, which I found someone on the internet |
