Has anyone ever seen these headlights on one of our turcks?

I am thinking about putting these headlights in my truck and getting rid of the original front parking lights in my 68. I baught the extra piece to replace the dimpled parking light grille insert but now I have looked and looked and still have not seen one in a truck like ours. If you have seen it done please let me know also if you have a picture I would love to see what it would look like in the truck. Also if you have thought about doing this before or if you decided not to and why? here is a link to what the lights look like.
and a pics. go to the link to see the stats. I called the guys up and they said i need some adapter for the single lights but they fit my truck. Thats what they say anyway.

Just wonder how visible the yellow is when the headlight is on.

I know I thought of this as well. That is part of the reason that I wondered if anyone has seen them ona truck before etc. Plus with a 180 dollar price tag. I don't want to regret the purchase.

Re: Has anyone ever seen these headlights on one of our turcks?

Well, I know that on 1967 trucks the signal lights go out when the headlights turn on.

So, yay for 1967 owners!

It looks like a great mod for those wanting the shaved look (ridding of old ambers inside the grille) and still retaining front signals.

I Have Relocated The Turn Signals On Several 67 & 68 Trucks To The Radiator Support. I've Even Replaced The Front Bumper On 71-72s To Pre 70 Style, While Relocating The T/s . To The Rad Support For A Clean Look. I've Always Used 67/68 Stock T/s , & Screwed Them To The Rad. Support. John

I have seen this done bothways, with it screwed to the radiator support and the bumper style. I can't say that I really like either way. I was looking for a way to make the front of my truck look wide with very little interuptions. So I am shaving the bowtie and I want the original bumper. From the front you can still see the lights on the radiator support and it still sorta breaks up the look I wanted. However, I appreciate the reply. Maybe I'll be the first to try the lights on one of these trucks. Guess we will find out soon enough. I might have to post some pics if I get'em.

Ive been looking at those. I am still debating on it. I'm not too worried about people seeing the signals with the headlights on. Around here, people get confused when you actually use your signal.

Re: Has anyone ever seen these headlights on one of our turcks?

for my 72 they were in the bumper and i made angle iron brackets and put them on the core support. now i got a smooth bumper without lights and fairly well hidden parking lights.

this was the very first thing i did to my truck

Re: Has anyone ever seen these headlights on one of our turcks?

Haven't seen them on one of our trucks before, but they look awesome!!!! I too wonder about the headlight/turnsignal visibility.... but then again with the low beams on, it shouldn't be a problem, right? Most new cars have the signals directly adjacent to the headlights and people can see them then.... so why not?

Re: Has anyone ever seen these headlights on one of our turcks?

I asked about these a few months ago and heres the response I got from another member on a differnet forum..............
Finally took some pics tonight. Here's a copy of something I posted on another board:

For those of you considering the headlights with built in LED turn signals available from Yogi's and Chev's of the 40's, there are a few things to consider.

1. The lenses are quite convex compared to the King Bee's. That's just fine with me, but some people prefer a flatter lens.
2. Blinker doubles as a parking light if you wish to wire it that way.
3. Very easy to connect. Good instructions too.
4. The design of the lens fluting looks pretty cool. Clean appearance.
5. The lenses are PLASTIC! I was expecting glass and was a little disappointed.
6. They come with H4 bulbs already installed.
7. They do not put out (or correctly refract) light like the King Bee's. If you're doing much night driving and don't already have good night vision you may wish to reconsider.
8. The LED turn signals are plenty bright enough to be seen by oncoming traffic.

I installed them about 8 days ago, but just came back from my first night time drive. Do I like them? Absolutely! Would I buy them again after the negatives I just pointed out? Yes.

Just like anything, there are a few drawbacks but I can live with them. Just thought you guys would like to know if you're considering purchasing them.

The single biggest drawback is the amount of light put out. It's just not the same as the King Bee's... I'd guess 80% of what my KB's did. I have pretty good night vision so I'm okay with them but you may not be.

For those looking for very effective light output and top quality, it's difficult (if not impossible) to beat E-codes (European), and the Cibie is arguably the best. Just thought I'd toss it out there, I know it's not what you are after with the integrated turn signal.

Only bad thing about mounting it that way is that the fluting would be wrong. The fluting is designed to spread the light in a horizontal direction, with the lights mounted that way the light would be spread verticall and would give you little to no use. Not only that, but everyone you drive behind or even oncoming traffic would be blinded.

Cool idea though, looks awesome

Mike

I've bought a few things from this guy......and all the transactions have gone well....not sure if the headlights will look cheap in person.. but for the price, I'm not expecting a work of art

I am going to go with that type as well. I have seen the ones with red dots instead of the blue ones and they look pretty good, again, for the money. I really liked what you did on the photoshop'd picture. Maybe send it to the company as an idea for future headlights . The only problem I could foresee is it reducing the peripheral boundaries of a traditional headlight...still would look cool though.

They sell em with turn signals also... but its just a wedge bulb.. Iwould imagine the headlights would drown the little wedge light out and you wouldnt see it... would look cool with just parking lights on though
