Help!
I'm trying to finish up my 327, five speed swap, and disk brake swap but I'm having a few problems. All I have left is the driveshaft, hydraulic clutch hose some brake line to bend. My 5 speed is out of a 90 chev 1/2t, a getrag (nvg3500) The output shaft is 32 spline. A new slip yoke is $250 so I'm going to turn down a 32 spline yoke that I found in a yard, the outside is too big to fit in the tranny. My problem is this, I can't find anywhere what the outside dimension is sposed to be. If I go too small it won't ride on the bushing in the end of the tranny. There are none of these yokes in Saskatchewan to measure and I havn't been able to find a mechanic who can help me! Does anyone have one, know specs or know if it's the same as a th400 yoke(also 32 spline)? I want to drive my truck! Help!

I had a 5 spd yolk slipped into a 400T. the only difference that I could see, was the lenght of the spline(the 400T had an O ring,so the yolk was bored for that). good luck.....69 longhorn

That sounds promising, where is the O-ring on a turbo 400 yoke? I would guess on the out side nearer to the u-joint? no idea really, any other info? Thanks!

I understand, so unless the 5 speed yoke is a bit smaller it should be the same outside diameter as a th400. Has anyone put a th400 yoke in a 5 speed now? Thanks!
