vacuum/carb/newb question
Hey All - I decided to swap the old air filter and original setup for a basic edelbrock chrome air cleaner, but I’m not 100% on the vacuum hookup. Does the vacuum advance line go to the open spot on the carb? I tried this and it seems to run fine, but was fast at idle. Do I need to dial it back after the swap? Pic below.

Re: vacuum/carb/newb question
Dizzy needs to hook to a port that does not have vacume at idle but when the throttle start to open. There has been much discussion on this but with this setup you can run the most initial advance and have the best idle.

Re: vacuum/carb/newb question
yep, the advance needs what they call ported vacuum, so a source above the throttle plate needs to be used
