i need help changing from points to hei how to wire it on a 70 with a 350 in it

All you need is a good 12 volt (ignition hot) power source. That is all the wiring there is to it besides the wiring on the distributor itself that goes up to the coil.

I just ran a wire from the battery to a toggle switch mounted under the dash then to the dizzy.

No need for a toggle, just wire it to the fuse box, (ignition unfused) or if you have a mega RPM motor, you'll want to tap into the pink wire on the back of the ignition switch.
There's at least 2 or 3 write ups in the FAQ

I hooked mine up to the unfused iginition on the fuse box, placed a 30 AMP fuse inline and ran the line to the + side of the HEI. Hooked up my factory tach and fired it up. That easy... Only hard part was pulling my points dizzy out and lining up the oil pump with the new HEI. My gears would line up but the HEI was a little different orientation than original. All it took was a long screw driver to adjust the oil pump, and in she went then. Open the gap on your plugs to 40 - 45 now. I also did new plugs and wires, no since having a weak link. Good luck
