Stupid Question - '67 -'71 K10 vs. K20 Frame (Different??)
so is there any differance between a K10 and a K20 frame?
I know that the springs and axles are differant - but what about the actual frame - is it beffier @ all? - seems to me that they would be close to being the same??? or no? anybody tow a car trailer with a K10??? - how does the 1/2 ton handle it?

Re: Stupid Question - '67 -'71 K10 vs. K20 Frame (Different??)
If I remember correctly Longhorn said that the 1/2 and 3/4 are the same, it's the 1 ton frames that are beefier. Towing with a 1/2 depends on the load and how you are towing it. Weight is really the major factor because that effects everything. How it pulls, steers and most important, stops.

Re: Stupid Question - '67 -'71 K10 vs. K20 Frame (Different??)
The Chevy restoration packet shows there is a difference in the 10, 20 and 30 frames. The section modulus varies between each. I find the following definition: The section modulus largely determines the flexural strength of a beam of given material.

Seems odd that GM would make 2 different frames for the 10 & 20. I'd be curious to see some dimensions on someone's original 20 series truck vs. a 10 series frame to compare. (anybody already done this?)

Re: Stupid Question - '67 -'71 K10 vs. K20 Frame (Different??)
so if I put 3/4 ton springs and axles in my K-10 I have a K-20 (I know it won't be the real deal - but it is the the same as a factory K-20?)
This is dangerous - I already have all kinds of ideas for my new ride.

Yeah, the springs and axles/brakes.Both have Dana44 front axles with the difference being in the hub/brake area.
