Lowering Springs Question
I'm sure this has been covered several times. What springs can i go with and still be able to have some travel at the rear? I was thinking on using the 3" in the rear and 2" spindles . Tires are 255/70/15's Anyone use this setup before and have pics? Is the 4" too low to have any travel? I use the truck to haul light stuff especially on my way home from Home Depot.

I have 3in drops in the back of my truck right now. Should have plenty of travel. Should have travel at 4 inch too, maybe an ocational touching the bump stops, but should be ok.

I've got a 4" drop on my leaf truck and it works fine. A tad bouncy, but I think that has more to do with the Belltech Nitrodrops. I'll use KYB's next time, since that's what Early Classic has switched to (I got my stuff from Early Classic 3 years ago or so).

I went with 2" front and 3" rear and am very happy with it. I bought from Early Classic. There was a hicup with the order, but they made it right very quickly. If you want a level ride w/o a load, go with the 4" drop springs. I like a little rake, but I think I would be even happier if I had gone with the 4" springs in the rear. Be sure to get the shock relocators when ordering drop rear springs. I did a test before installing the relocators, and the shocks sit at the wrong degree to do any good. You'll do nothing but bounce the rear and have no hauling capacity w/o the relocators. I just used the air shocks that I had on it and they work great. Air them down for a good launch (as good as you can expect from a 500hp BB) and air them up for hauling/towing.
I strongly suggest Early Classic. They will answer any question's you have and take as much time as needed until they place the order. Good Luck!

Thanks for all the info. I'll check out the shock relocators. If you use the relocators do you still have to use a shorter shock? By the way its a coil rear. I want some rake to it, but when someone looks at it i want them to realize it's been lowered.

Is your truck an original CST?

here's mine, 2.5 spindles/4" coils, 255/60/15 front (go with 245s if u want the front a little lower cuz they are smaller) 275/60/15 rear (27.9 inches)
my rear is about 1/2 inch lower now than it is in the pic i'm gonna eventually bag it so it will ride nice (i dont care about slamming it) make sure u get the adjustable panhard kit even though they say you dont need it with a 4" drop in the rear, trust me you should get it. note: the board wouldnt let me post it cuz it was bigger thatn 640 wide so i flipped it and it worked.
