71 Chevy Cheyenne vs. Nova video.
Here is a video of my 71 Chevy short box Cheyenne super with a supercharge 454 in racing a nova yesterday. I was still trying to tune it in. The smoke you see at the end is some oil spitting onto my header. The motor with the supercharger built up so much pressure it blew my dipstick tube out and sprayed some oil.

What kind of power are you pulling out of that engine? How much boost are you running?

Re: 71 Chevy Cheyenne vs. Nova video.
Silly little truck.. I have a hose clamp you can use to secure the dipstick for next time...
Hey Bryan.. I'll let this video stay for awhile on the server.. I am hoping to get a program to convert vids to SWF flash video's.. like youtube and google.. so it loads alot faster Maybe not as fast as your truck.. but faster.. What was your final time of the day.. i only stayed from 11-1pmotherwise I would have more vids.. i took a couple of my other friends 65 and 72 chevelles.. http://www.blackbirdscustomtrucks.com/video.html

Talk about cutting the tree down at the stump. Either you nailed it or he was so late he needed a wake up call. Good show. I keep a throttle return spring on my dipstick to keep it from blowing out.

Re: 71 Chevy Cheyenne vs. Nova video.
Sorry for the delay guys. Just got done coaching the kids Pop Warner football.
The No-Go or some may call it a Nova dialed in a 12.70. I Am not sure what I ran this run as I got mad and pulled in and parked and did not go by the time shed to get my slip. My tranny would not shift out of 2nd gear unless you let all the way off the gas then it would shift and then I could get back on it. I built this truck to SHOW and GO. I wanted the best of both worlds. You do not see that alot. Normally it is one or the other. I built this truck to run in the high 10's or low 11's. Ron586, I ran a ..5 on the run before this so I had the ax out chopping down the tree. This Nova was running good but not good enough for the broken C-10. I was loosing to much time and having to let off the gas. There was alot of trucks that day out there and I will get those posted here shortly. I already tore the tranny back out and am going to tear into it this weekend. I do have to say that once I got the air pressure down in the ET street slicks it hooked as well as expected. That run I started in 2nd gear to see if it would shift better that way. It did not and did not launch as hard as it should. I ran a 1.74 60 ft which is launching hard off the line. |

Re: 71 Chevy Cheyenne vs. Nova video.
I have a turbo 400 with a hughes 3000 stall. I had this built last summer and did not use till I put it in the truck. The guy was refered to me by many but I am not happy with it.
I am going to do it with a manual valve body now. |

Re: 71 Chevy Cheyenne vs. Nova video.
Even people in the crowd were saying it was the nicest truck they have ever seen and the nicest in the area..
The old guysa next to me usually hit the cruise night at a local place and have seen it there and at a couple local shows.. They talked about it the whole time from staging to end of race... Now if that doesn't give Bryan a big head nothing will
