How hard is it to remove the 73-91 Blazer bedsides?
How hard is it to remove the 73-91 Blazer bedsides? I was thinking about replacing one rather than welding in new panels. I figure that the area around the rocker panel would be the hardest part of the removal.

Unless you can find NOS ones, I wouldn't do it. The quarters make up the structure on a Blazer, rather than bolt together like a pickup. Aftermarket would be OK for front fenders and doors, but I wouldn't trust it for quarter panels, other than patch panels.

Swapping the tubs wouldn't work in this instance. The floor is my 2WD Blazer is 85% rust free. THe floor in the 4x4 with better bedsides is around 25% rust free. Weird how the bedsides lower edges are better than on my 2WD's.

Either way he said it would be cheapest to just buy the patch panels and have him install them.

Re: How hard is it to remove the 73-91 Blazer bedsides?
I am planning on posting some pictures of the bed floor soon to show how nice it was. I had a 73 2WD Blazer years ago and we drove that Truck Flinstone style! That thing was rusted in places you couldn't imagine, but it was a complete blast just running into stuff, such as guardrails, other cars, Coke machines, etc. That was when I was in High School and thank God I never got caught because my law enforcement career would be over before it gets started! Never would do something like that again!
