Click on user cp then edit options and scroll down and uncheck the line that says to email when response is posted.

Easy, there! Everything's gonna be OK. It's just email.
Josh just fixed it yesterday, a bunch of us haven't been getting notifications or board email.

I think those are left over from earlier in the day, before you turned it off. I'm still getting some notifications for posts made at 8:00 this morning, and the emails are dated Dec 31, 1969 (so obviously the time stamp is wrong). Give it a little time.

OK, I think I got it figured out. When you make each individual post, there's a checkbox at the bottom of the form for email notification. All the posts you made before changing your "edit options" are still checked, so it will take some time before they all go away (until people stop posting on those threads).
Changing the "Edit Options" checkbox only affects new posts. In the future, the email notification box on each new post will not be checked by default, but you can check it if you want. Clear as mud?

To remove notification form any post, go to the User CP and there should be a list currently active topics you are subscribed to, click unsubscribe on the items you do not wish to receve email notification on.
Also to prevent the check box for email notification to be on automatically, go to Options under teh User CP and turn off "Use 'Email Notification' by default?"
