hey guys,
i'm putting together a list of parts for my frame so when i take it to the galvanizer they have something to referance. i'm also weighing everything since that's apparently how they bid the galvanizing work. so i got allmost everything weighed tonight short of the frame. would someone know what the weight of a 1/2 ton longbed coil frame weighs?

Stealing your thread because I am planning on doing the same thing and the weight would be really helpful??I aming doing a short coil frame.

Is it possible to take it to the county dump to use their scales? I have went there to have things weighed before. there is usually a private owned truck scales somewhere in towns that would charge 10 bucks or less.
I would guess it is less than 200 lbs though as 2 guys can lift one pretty easy

i do have accsess to do something like your saying but it would literaly take me all day and i was hoping someone might know off hand.

I wouldnt call it easy but it IS possible as Djracer and I loaded one on a trailer. Ive had to move one by myself after disassembly and used a DOLLY to push it around the yard. Im not a small fella, I can get 200 lbs off the ground and move around but I could NOT get that frame to cooperate without the dolly. My advice is get a few beers and a few friends and take the easy route.

I recently moved a lwb 4x4 frame off a trailer and into my shop with my 25 year old nephew. We handled it fairly easy, Thats why I said what I did. I dunno maybe the kid was taking the brunt of it for the old man

I am also assuming the dissasembled frame being talked about doesn't have the front crossmember in it. Maybe yours did?
