struck it rich -(kinda)- old chevy gold mine!

idk if this should be general discussion or classifieds or what.. so ill put it here..

ok so i was cruising around the country today in eastern nebraska on one of my occasional 'parts hunting missions" out in the country and i discovered this little whord of 67-72 chevy trucks and other parts. i talked to the guy, and while hes not GIVING stuff away, he does however know what hes got (hard to find stuff) but he seems like a fair guy and from the general prices he offered i dont think hes too far off. im sure my cash would talk when the time came, but who knows. anyway.. hes got like 3 or 4 short wheelbase 4wd trucks, a few SWB 2wd's, some LWboxes, a few 71-72 disc brake clips, like 3 or 4 tilt truck columns, (he said hed take $250 each, i could pry relay a few of these along for somewhat of a "middleman's handling fee") a junk load of old 67-69 camaro/firebird shells, some old obscure cars, a ton of big blocks floating around, various bbc and sbc parts, and idk what else... were talking packrat collector of stuff since he was old enough to spell C-A-R. im thinking about just buying up all the truck stuff, taking what i need and selling the rest.. cause hes the type of guy that will just keep this stuff sitting around forever and never try to sell it unless someone asks. so it might as well be going to a good use as far as im concerned. the only bad thing is, that if i have to buy all the stuff for individiual prices all added together, then theres not much room for profit. but if i can get a good deal on the whole lot, then there just might be some good stuff coming up for sale!! so i cant tell you much right now, but think about it and if i catch any really good deals ill let yall know. all i can say for sure is that ive got a 68 that needs some attention so ill definitely be looking out for #1 first! Stay tuned (ill update, dont worry) and if theres deals ill let ya know!

all the truck tilts were column shift, there were a LOT more columns, but i didnt pay attention to what they were cause they werent truck tilt. and i think there was a.. late sixties chevelle 4 door shell... also didnt pay much attention to it.. hes in the process of putting up a big huge wooden quansit to store some of his junk in, and im thinking of working for him so hopefully i can get some stuff for the price of labor... its worth a shot!

Those 67-69 Camaro shells are always worth dragging home. What shape are the swb's in? Sounds like a good score.

Re: struck it rich -(kinda)- old chevy gold mine!

yea i thought it was kinda funny, but there was a 4x4swb, no engine/trans, grille, or interior, with kind of a rough body as it sits, but fairly rust free, and he wanted more for this 4x4 that he wanted for a 2wd swb with a lot better body and it included an engine/trans! idk i thought it was pretty funny.
for the 4x4's there was a 71-72 style- i think with no engine/trans/case, or interior that had no wheels or box on it, in workable condition and otherwise complete.. didnt ask about price..
a 67 4x4swb which is very complete with good body (iffy tailgate) with a 454 and th400, factory a/c cab, but no ac components on the 454, "new interior"(circa the '80's) he wanted somewhere around 5k for that one..
the blue one as described in the beginning, i think 1500 bucks..
and i believe thats all the 4x4's there were.. then for 2wd's theres the red one i got dibs on, a 67 GMC with no front clip/engine/interior(idk price) and another GMC (dont know the year) that wasnt too bad, but had rusty box sides.. as far as i know thats all the truck stuff he had to offer. but i may have forgotten some stuff...
