As promised here is my color of choice
Don't hold back. Let me know what you think but it definitely looks better in person. Everyone in the shop liked it but you know how it goes.

Re: As promised here is my color of choice
That's a wild @ss color. That should look good on there for sure. How are you going to break the two-tone? I know you told me, but I'm getting old and forgetful...

Re: As promised here is my color of choice
I am going to use a white pearl to be the center and roof color on the two tone. It will be a modified cadillac pearl. I do not like the yellowish haze of the cadillac color so what I do is use straight white tint of the mixing bank and nothing else and then add my pearl to that. I may even throw in some orange liquid pearl in the white too to go with the orange pearl color just to give it a little bit of an orange flop on the white depending on what angle you are looking at the color. Going to try a few things first.

Re: As promised here is my color of choice
Hard to tell with my crappy monitor, but is it actually lighter in person and out in the sun? I'm sure it'll look good when it's done, but be aware that these type of colors are outdated within 10 years.

Re: As promised here is my color of choice
Yes, I know they go with the fad of times but fortunately for me I am a painter and bodyman so I could change this weekly if I wanted to! The beauty of repairing your own vehicles right! It changes quite a bit looks light on the face but darker on the cast if you know what that means maybe? Straight on it looks lighter but from the side view it is darker.

Re: As promised here is my color of choice
I know exactly what you mean about the Cadillac pearl white. In most cases I don't like it because it has a yellow cast to it. I prefer the Lexus pearl white straight out of the can. In this case the Caddy white might work to your advantage if your wanting to pick up the orange hue.
The only thing I don't like about using mixing base and adding pearls, tints, flakes etc, is trying to match them later. Of course trying to match anything later is always a hassle at best, but at least if your shooting a straight formula you have a good starting point.

Re: As promised here is my color of choice
Thanks guys for all of the compliments. This truck should go along pretty quickly as not many bodymods and such. I will keep everyone posted. I have to cut in the fenders first, hood and firewall and then go back together with front end and work from there. The object of this one is not to get it too far apart at any one time like my 2wd Blazer project.

Re: As promised here is my color of choice
I know exactly what you mean there. I really like the color combo. Especially in the factory scheme.

Re: As promised here is my color of choice
The color looks great! I painted a harley for a friend and i used a very similiar color for the flames and i used a white pearl white for the base. It was beautiful. So i think your truck will look sweet. Are you going to be doing a design to break up the two tones or just a straight line? Definately post some pics when you finish spraying!!! Good luck!

Re: As promised here is my color of choice
No just using the factory cheyenne moldings to break up the color. Working on the white today that will go with it but it is the end of the month around here in the bodyshop business so it is hectic today! Will post more pics soon.

Re: As promised here is my color of choice
There is a fastback mustang not far from here that is a real close match to that. I see it in the sun sometimes and it just glows. It's cool. My son would like it. I'm more of a blue type I guess.
