HELP !!!!! Lining up driveshaft ???????
Help !!!!!! Finally found the right U joint ,,,,, Marked the 2 piece driveshaft before I took it off ,,,,, But with messing with putting the U joint in and all the oil and grease the mark came off ,,,,,, I know, I now know anyway that I should have marked it better !!!!
Please help ........ any markings on the driveshafts to line them up ??????????? I'll donate $25 to the board if anybody has got the right answer !!!!!! (bribery will get you everywhere !!!! LOLOL)

The crosses all have to line up. Because of the positions of the splines, there should be only ONE way for that to happen, with everything indexed and in balance.

Anyway, just put it back together. Are you saying as long as the crosses on the U joints line up I should be ok ???? P.S. Go Cardinals !!!!! LOL

it will work for awhile out of phase, but the ears on the shaft part of the drive shafts should really be in a direct line with each other, as if it were one solid tube, and the flanges on the slip yoke and the rear end should correspond with each other......I saw a semi truck that had the drive shafts put in out of phase and the guy couldn't figure out why he was eating U-joints once a month.....after he phased the driveshaft, he had no more problems.

Book says to line up all yokes then rotate then rotate the rear shaft 4 splines to the driver side. (or 90*-16 spline shaft) Now go finish your job.
