Installing a new rubber grommet
I need to install a new 2" rubber fuel neck grommet on my 67 stepside. Is there any easy way to get this done short of pulling the fuel tank?

heat it up in boiling water and use liquid dishsoap to lubricate it

A little lithium grease helps too.

Sylglide is made for lubricating rubber. It doesn't dry out as quickly as dish soap, in my experience. I haven't replaced the fuel neck grommet, but it's been good stuff in other installs.
