WTB - Fleetside tail lamp harness
Has anyone got an unmolested rear tail lamp electrical harness for a 68-72 fleetside that they'd be willing to part with?
I'm in the process of rewiring the truck (Painless kit) and my rear section is hacked beyond repair. Thought I'd try the board before attempting to find the parts to build a new harness or break down for the $80 repro. I am in Calgary Canada (in case shipping is an issue) Thanks |

I dont have one but I DO have a question. Are you saying the Painless '67-72 kit does NOT have provisions for taillights or do you just have to splice on the pigtails?

Re: WTB - Fleetside tail lamp harness
The Painless kit has got 5 wires that run back to the rear of the truck (directly from the fuse block). I suspect that the cleanest way to install would be to splice these into the rear section of the "intermediate harness" and then plug directly into the existing rear harness.
I think the wires are long enough that I could run them direct to the tail lights (would still need a few jumpers and such) but I'd prefer to maintain the ability to unplug the entire rear section should I ever need to remove the box or add trailer wiring. I guess the short answer is - that you have to splice on the pigtails. |

Right on. I suppose bed removal is a good thing to plan on when doing wiring. Take pics for us. Oh, I picked up a front light harness from the junkyard but the back one looked like a pile'o'sketti otherwise I would go get it for you. Im headed out there this weekend to pick up a console for my Blazer and I will snap a pic for you just for grins.

HD2000, I might have one. I have 2 shortfleet beds in the back. I will have to go and see if they have been molested.
