50th Golden Anniversary Trucks
I'm looking for pics of 50th Anniversary Trucks, and any factory lit about these trucks.
At one time I had a sales aid brochure for 1968 Chevy Truck dealers on the back cover was a poster of and about the 50th Ann Truck. I no longer have this poster but once someone here posted the same pic. So if any one has this or anything like this please show it. Last edited by burb71; 12-01-2006 at 03:07 PM. |

Re: 50th Golden Anniversary Trucks
Yeah lilpup69chevy, The sunvisors, dash pad and seat should be gold. Well the seat should be ivory and gold. Thanks to help of longhorn man, I was able to determine if mine was a 50th anniversary. And it is. but the original build sheet and such are gone.

Re: 50th Golden Anniversary Trucks
I have two 50th trucks and a third that I have not picked up yet...LOL! It is a sickness...I know! I have a picture and literature on the 68 Longhorn but it does not address the 50th option specifically. I have some details on the 50th option from this literature and from the 1968 Chevrolet Restoration Guide but I don't have it all. I also have a special Chevrolet '68 50th Anniversary Promotion package with lots of film clips and audio on records that I have not listened to yet. I would be very interested in a specific piece of literature that describes more about the option and the sales promo behind it. It may be in my audio collection that I have not yet listened to.
Hutch, What does it say inside about the option?

Re: 50th Golden Anniversary Trucks
72 Custom Camper, Thanks for those pics of the Custom Comfort Bench seat since CG was looking for that one and I did not want to pull my seat cover off...LOL! Nice pic of the CST buckets too. Do you have another one? The second picture (truck) has the wrong hubcaps. The '68's had the polished stainless with the red bowtie.
Beautiful examples just the same!

If the glove box lock is there but the button is gone you should be able to take a piece of wood dowel that will fit onto the hole, push in on it and open the glove box door. You may have to push on the glove box door a little to take the pressure off of the lock bolt. LockDoc

Re: 50th Golden Anniversary Trucks
PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I can get my buckets done! Whooo hooooo! I wonder if there was a Custom Comfort bucket seat option with the fabric? In the 50th package the Custom Comfort bench was fabric and the Custom Sport Truck option (CST) was vinyl, even though the 50th package included the CST option and badges. Weird but this is somewhat explained in the '68 Restoration Guide. I suspect there was never a fabric option for the buckets since I have only seen vinyl buckets.

Re: 50th Golden Anniversary Trucks
All the pics I've seen have had vinyl seats. I wonder if the gold material is as hard to come by as the 72 Highlander fabric?

Re: 50th Golden Anniversary Trucks
I've gotten the samples from SMS. I need to figure out how much I need for a Highlander seat. That's cool that they have the anniversary vinyl too. The Highlander material is $85 a yard, how much is the anniversary material?

Re: 50th Golden Anniversary Trucks
Been one sitting here in a local yard for over a year, it's complete but it's
ruff, they will not sell parts off of it, I almost bought it last year, they are trying to get $350 for it w/ no title, it's a 3/4 ton lwb, I wish I had space.
