Distributor connectors????
I am finally getting close to finishing the engine swap (SB to BB). Thanks to all who have had such prompt and accurate input/advice. It has been truly helpful. I have another question regarding distributor connectors. Below is a pic of the 2 connectors I need to connect. The one to the left (at end of red wire) is the one I disconnected from the distributor on the previous SB350. It was a 1995 truck 350, which I think had one of the newer HEI distributors with the built-in coil??? The Mallory dist. has a 3 pronged connector (the one to the right) and I have no idea what to do with either. Is there some sort of adapter that can accommodate one with the other??? Or will the 3 pronged connector go the the MSD coil or 6A Box??? Then what do I do with the original red wire connctor? Maybe that goes into the MSD Box or Coil???
And another dumb question...do I have the plug wire ends on wrong? Are the MSD stamps supposed to go on the plugs, and not the distributor? HEY, STOP LAUGHING! I'm new at this motor stuff Thanks for all the help!!! Jesse

Re: Distributor connectors????
Have you check with Mallory for an adapter to connect? That would be my first attempt. The HEI connector is a 12 volt line for the original coil, which should be going to your new coil and then connect to the distributor (I am guessing that the coil is mounted elsewhere in this setup). As for the plug wires, what type of end is on the other end of the wire. If it is a 90 degree end like the one at the distributor, then I would say they are backwards. At least that is the way mine are mounted.

And, yes, the coil is there, but not in the pic. And now that you mention it, the male ends that MSD provides to install on the positive/negative sides on the Blaster 2 Coil would fit the female end inside the red wire I have pictured. I would connect the red to the POS side, right? I will try this tonight and see what happens. If none of you hear form me tomorrow, I have blown myself up Thanks Jesse
