BACKSPACE QUESTION FOR 1969 C-10 dropped with pwr disk upfront

Can anyone help me with backspacing for rims for a 69 C-10 2WD fleetside longbed with 2 1/2" drop spindles, disc brakes upfront and 4" drop in the rear. Thanks!

I see a lot of guys use an 8" rim with 4" BS for the front and a 10" rim with a 5" BS on the rear.

My rims are 15"x8" with 4" backspace and you can barely fit a piece of paper between the wheel weights and the new McGaughey 2.5" drop spindle. I had to grind a little more than 1/16" of an inch off the spindle for clearance.

Re: BACKSPACE QUESTION FOR 1969 C-10 dropped with pwr disk upfront

I am running 5 inches BS on front with 20x8.5 inch wheels and 5.5 inches BS on rear with 20x10 inch wheels. I have ECE 2.5 inch drop spindles with 2 inch drop springs on front and 5 inch drop springs rear. I have no rubbing or interference issues whatsoever. I would have to be driving pretty fast and hit a dip or something just to even hear it bottom out a little bit.

Let me know if you need pics.

Jesse

Ironically, it may be for sale soon. We are getting ready to purchase a new home and will need extra money for down payment, new furniture, and other expenses. Otherwise I had no intention whatsoever of selling this my baby. I have enjoyed my C-10 way more than all 3 previous cars put together!!! But as we all know, family priorities come first.

Cool part is that my wife promises to get me a new (well another 67-72) truck once we are all settled in
