Time for seat warmers!

I just ran across this in a new hot rod mag that came today. They are a retro seat warmer for any old or new seats. The kit comes with two sets that will do both seats and covers your butt and back area. Two wire hook up and is has an Off-Low-High setting. These will be going into Project Slow Build for sure. Just thought I would share what I found.

Thinking about putting one of those on the passenger side for the wife. She's always cold and once had a car with seat warmers in it--she was in heaven. This may be the only way I can get her to ride in my truck--once it's done. Anyway, they are pretty cool--wander if they really work that well through the material.

I grabbed a couple buckets out of a '02 chrysler 300m, full power with heat.

best thing is that they cost me $50 for the pair, way cheaper than any of the aftermarket heater kits that i have found, minus the hassle of installation.

I am doing these in my daily driver for sure because I rarely use the heater

I'm definately putting a set in my trucks. I think I'll go with Jeg's for half the price.

i would like a set of seats out of a lincoln navigator,,they heated and cooled..or is it the escalade..but anyway that would be nice out here in utah,,where you are either frying or freezing,,with very little in between..

It is not half the price! The price I posted is for both seats not one like Jegs. But I will probly get mine thru jegs depending on their "Handling Fee " Or If Summit has them I'm their. My Wifes 04 Cooper S has heated seats and they are great!

As far as heat transfer these say they get up to like 115* on High and that you will feel right thru the seat as long as they are installed right. That is also the same range as factory but most factory seats do not have "Low or High" settings.

I understand now. I'm a big supporter of Summit so if they have them, thats where I will get them from. I had heated seats in a Volvo I had and you can definately feel the heat. Those were leather seats, with the vinyl on a stock truck seat you will feel the warmth.

I have canvas seat covers on my TJ. I went to Target & saw these on sale for 20.00 per seat. Slipped them underneath my seat covers, spliced in the wiring so that it's hardwired, not plugged in & voila!! Heated seats WITH massage!!

how do they look under the cover? can you see the outline? does all the heat come through?

Someone recently picked up a seat heater kit - you just install these sheets into the seat back and BAM instant heat. Nice kit. There are pics and eveyrthing in this subforum somewhere.

My VW GTI (1999.5) has a 5-step setup, I think when I end up doing this I might go buy a couple of the seat heater controls and wire them in for the same 5-step setup if possible. I assume it's just a potentiometer of some sort that comes with all of these kits.

The seats in the TJ are pretty beat, but have good padding & such. Got some nice covercraft covers, & you can't really tell that the seat warmers are there except for the controls. I have them velcroed to the sides of my console. Works great!!

Strange. I've never seen a factory set that didn't have a LOW & HIGH. My wife and I have owned 5 cars in the past 4 years with heated seats and all of them had the hi/low switch.

My wife's 03 discovery only has on/off on her seats, but they do warm up nice!
