1967 Pacesetter

Thought this could be interesting for some members.
I have never heard of the 1967 Fleetside Pacesetter truck before but maybe it is well known to you guys already.
Found them on this site:http://www.camaropacecars.com/ which I found in this thread:http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=219570

Re: 1967 Pacesetter

Maybe it has to do with the 1967 Chevy truck being the pit vehicles for the Indy 500.

Smile Re: 1967 Pacesetter

Hey guy's , I am the one that started the other thread about the truck's I am a member on the pace car page , I don't have a pace car but I I do have a 1967 camaro that look's just like a pace car it's white with blue deluxe interior someone just ordered it that way ,, but anyway I like the 1967 pace car's and all the stuff that went with them ,
the PACESETTER sale was a sales promotion that GM came up with to sell car's truck's station wagon's by using the 1967 indy race popularity , they are pacesetter ad's for camaro's truck's station wagon's ,
the truck's were used as pit vehicle's firetruck's and I would say emergency rescue if needed at the track , also they used 1967 camaro coupe's that were white and had red writing on the door's but nobody has found a clear picture to see what the writing said ,
as far as I know not one of the truck's or coupe camaro's used at that race has ever been found , talk about rare if a 1967 indy fire truck could be found !!

Re: 1967 Pacesetter

Hi Guys!
Brad turned me on to site!!
I have a 67 Bright White with Bright Blue interior 3/4 truck that is in the paint shop as I write this.
It is supposed to be a Pacesetter based on it's sale date (June 1967) It's color combo also matches the Camaro Pace Cars used that year.
My question is: Is there a way to tell when my Truck was built?
Thanks Tony

Re: 1967 Pacesetter

I found it interesting to see the postings regarding the Pacesetter ad campaign; My Dad was a Chevy dealer and I still have a few of the bumper stickers but I didn't see an example of one with the other materials...see attached.

The bumper sticker shown is from the 1978 Pacesetter sale when the Vette first paced the race.

Do you have any Camaro memorabilia from the 1960's???

I believe the 1967 Trucks went to the larger rear windows in March of 1967. Anyone have any Chevrolet documents on this change over??
