Should I Trade / Or Not
ok i have a 1966 chevelle malibu 2 d ht. it is in good condition. with a 350 with power glide. it got new quarters and a 1/4 trunk pan put on it and is in primer with a solid floors. it got real good sheetmetal. it runs and drive. hear is what it needs. a windshield 90% new chrome it needs all the interior. i do have the front seat only. and it needs new bumpers. and i got a man want to trade me a 1979 chevy truck with a factory 454 short bed with buckets. and he has been working on it. the bed is been sand blasted and got new doors and new fenders. and under the hood is done just need finishing and painting. i have allways wanted to own a true big block truck. my mama bought a new 77 and it was a big block. soo would you trad or not. here is a pic of my chevelle

Re: Should I Trade / Or Not
this decision sounds like it is entirely up to you, but an original big block truck would be pretty nice , but then again, this is a truck website.

Re: Should I Trade / Or Not
I would not trade. The Chevelle is a harder car to come by and you already have a truck. Also it would make a cool family cruiser.

Re: Should I Trade / Or Not
If your passion is to have a 79 Chevy truck with a 454 and not fixing up the 66 Malibu, then I say go for it. Me, personally I would not do it. I think the Malibu fixed up right will turn more heads than that truck, but that’s just me. Have fun making your decision.

Re: Should I Trade / Or Not
Keep the car. You can buy a nice cleaned up mid 70's pickup dirt cheap, especially with a gas hog big block. The car on the other hand, its value can only go up.

Re: Should I Trade / Or Not
Another vote for keeping the car.
That body style was only two years, the truck on the other hand...14 years of nearly the same style, other than small cosmetic changes. The trucks are a dime a dozen. |

Re: Should I Trade / Or Not
Keep the car! They are alot harder to find then our trucks!! They are also worth more money when built right.

Re: Should I Trade / Or Not
It would be hard for me to decide lso, but I tend to think the 66 would be the best choice to keep. Of course the fact I think the 66 and 68 are the 2 best Chevelle years may have some influence on my decision.

Re: Should I Trade / Or Not
Since neither the 66 Chevelle nor the 79 truck are on my top 10 favorite vehicle list.
I would have to look at it from the stand point of which one is worth more now and in the long run... Around here those years of trucks are everywhere and 66 Chevelles are not... Plus IMHO Chevelles will always be worth way more... I would keep the Chevelle.. And put a BIG big block in it.. but then that's just my $.02 |

Re: Should I Trade / Or Not
I would say NOOOOOOOOOOO. Keep the car. Drive around for a week, come back here and tell us how many 60's chevelles(especially a 1966) you saw on the road & how many 70's trucks you saw...

Re: Should I Trade / Or Not
I love my truck. I even got to drive it today (it is salt season but it has been dry so no salt). However I'm a Chevelle guy first. If you sell/trade that car you'll regret it the rest of your life.

Re: Should I Trade / Or Not
keep the car! a bick block truck is easier to find than a chevelle in that condition. plus the car would make a good family cruiser. just my .02 though
