On the road again!!

Hello all
I have been lurking here for some time and thought I would introduce myself and my project. She is a 1967 gmc longbed stepside i got from my grandfather about 25 years ago. Yes, all the things wrong with her are my fault. The truck has sat most of the time I have had her out in the weather. I made an agreement with my wife if I could not get the truck on the road again for under $100 dollars I would have to sell her. (The truck) So a new coil, clean the points, and a junk yard seat later she just finished her first first drive. Your trucks have inspired me to do hopefully great things to this truck.

Joe

You have a nice truck to start your project. Did you have alot of rust in the cab? Good luck with the project.

Re: On the road again!!

the sentimental value of your truck makes it priceless. never think of selling her. my 72 cheyenne 4x4 was bought new by my uncle, he now has cancer in his lung and spine and GOD only knows how much time he has left. i hope and pray i never get into a position where i have to sell it but if i do it will definitly go to another family member.

Re: On the road again!!

WOW thanks for the welcome! Mrboson the truck is a rust bucket. Close to the top of the things to get list is a copy of "efabmans" cb corner dvd. In 1983 the truck disappeared from the parking lot of a freinds apartment in daytona beach Fl. this was shortly after priming the exterior but before I could actually paint it. Turns out it was towed and they did not inform me. some freinds saw it on the tow companies lot about three months later. By the time I got it back the surface rust was just starting to show. I thought I had gotten rid of it before I applied paint. The paint went on a little dry (apparently I thought I new how to paint as well.) So it has a lot of surface rust in addition to the normal rust.
Krue, I live in lawrenceville GA. just ne of atlanta. A fair piece from cordel but I have driven through cordel before.
