New stuff for Cujo...

Long ago I found out the truck I was buying for work was a good candidate for restoring. Being almost 95% original, I felt guilty driving it daily to and from work and hauling lumber in it. I took a reading on interest here and there and there was none to speak of.

I decided to keep the truck & I typically restify versus restore them and this will be no exception. So far I had a new windshield installed, rewired the horn, installed a stereo and four speakers, new rear 3/4 ton coils, a front sway bar, new Hedmans and Thrush Turbos and put new Avid ST's on all four corners. I am about to order a cowl hood for it this week after the big job wraps up.

The new feel of the truck on the road is very tight and there's NO roll when changing lanes in a hurry. I am most happy with this upgrade in particular. both the front and rear mods have changed this truck for the better.

Next up will come the rebuild of the motor sometime in the spring. This will be the first rebuild on the original motor at around 150-160k [projected].

Last but not least and hopefully in mid '07 will be paint. The trim will be removed and all holes filled....solid dark blue is the idea, but who knows what will happen when I take it in. It will remain the workhorse and the daily driver except for the time it takes to rebuild the motor, even after painting.

Tomorrow is welding day for the exhaust I installed. Hedman's collector system needs no further attention, so the pipes will get welded from the collectors back and carried over the axle with the exits behind the wheels. The old headers were about 2.5" lower at the collectors so the new system tucks up under the body nicely.

Pics will follow soon after the holidays. I hope to get the new site up before too long.

If anyone has pics of solid blue trucks with cowl hoods [swb or lwb], please post them here...I have some deciding to do on color.
