Chrome Halibrand style wheels???
I am tired of polishing my Torq Thrusts and I am trying to find some chrome Halibrand-styled wheels. Cragar makes something like that but they are only available in one backspace. Anybody know of another company who makes what I am looking for?

can't help you with the new ones but might be interested in your old ones if you want to get rid of them.

There are more than one style of Halibrand wheels, which style do you want?

Re: Chrome Halibrand style wheels???
Wheel Vintiques has the billet cruzer that looks like the Halibrand, but again it isn't chrome. You could always go with a chrome TT II or a chrome Torque thrust D. Have you looked into Zoopseal? It puts a clear coat or barrier of some kind on your wheels so you aren't constantly polishing.

Re: Chrome Halibrand style wheels???
Just out of curiosity, what do you use on your wheels to polish them? After you do the polishing, do you go back and coat them with a metal sealant to keep the dirt and water spost out of the metal? I have rims on two different trucks, that I polish and they get coated with a sealant that I get from the "Wizards" company that works pretty good. I usually polish my wheels once in the fall and then again in the spring. There are different qualities of metal in the wheels on the market, with the larger names, such as Weld, Halibrand, and Billet Specialties using a billet aluminum, and others like American Racing using a mixed metal base, which is not a true billet aluminum. The wheels like American Racing can be pollished, but the work is more time consuming.

Re: Chrome Halibrand style wheels???
I just found what I was looking for. Cragar Series 390 is exactly what I want. Just ordered a set today. And I will be selling my Torq Thrust's . All 4 are 17' x 8', two with 4'" backspace and two with 5" backspace.

Re: Chrome Halibrand style wheels???
As usual it doesn't take much of a hint to get me to post a pic of this truck. I will take $400 for the set. New, the set would be about 1100+. Probably a better deal for somebody who doesn't have to pay for shipping! Here's how they look on the truck. They are three years old and they shine up just fine. I just want to go with a chrome wheel for a change
Here's the Cragar wheel. It looks just like Billet Specialties Legacy, only chrome.

Re: Chrome Halibrand style wheels???
First of all, the bolt pattern IS a 5 X 5 pattern (standard GM truck), insn't it? Just where is Spring, Texas? What if I were to drive to your area and pick them up? Does the price include lugnuts or not?
What size tires are you running on those rims? |

Re: Chrome Halibrand style wheels???
Spring is 20 miles North of Houston. 5 on 5 bolt pattern is correct. I won't know what the shipping will be until I get the new wheels - not sure of the weight. If somebody wants to offer me $500 shipped to your door (including lug nuts), I will pay the difference if it goes over $100. As for the tires, I am running 235-50 17's on the front and 255-50 17's on the back. Any takers? First one to post after this note gets 'em!
