Some pics of my new driver.
While I'm not really into the 73-87 body line, I have driven them. This is a 86 C1500 I picked up for $500. It had a 406 that has a cracked piston in it. The deal was to get the truck for the nice price, I had to pull the 406, and install the INCLUDED 305. So after doing some simple maintance to the 305, (rear main, timing chain, valve seals, oil pump, after market intake) I have placed the 305 into my new truck. I hope to have it running sometime next week. Here is the 406 coming out.

Well, ended up getting the wrong style water pump. So that kind of kills my weekend for getting stuff done to it. If it's not one thing it's another.

so did you get to keep the 406 or did you have to give it back to the original owner?

Well, the 406 goes back to the orginal owner. And that's fine. My 69 is more of the toy. This 86 is gonna be my daily driver, witch is also gonna be seeing snow. And now that I can really drive this baby around, let me tell ya this bad boy drives nice!! Trans feels good, and the used 305 don't run all that bad either!! The only reason I scored this truck for $500 was because the last owner didn't wanna have to pull the the sick 406 out.
