mounting a cab on a rotisserie? anyone?

has anyone put a cab on a rotisserie to turn it upside down and work on the bottom? I plan on making a "litter" style jig to bolt the cab to then mount to a rotisserie and be able to work on the bottom of the floor while standing or sitting..... I would die if the thing fell off and ruined my only cab!

I like the idea of mounting it to the door hinges....that would open up the floor... is that an electirc motor? looks like a big ferris wheel!

Yes, it's a variable speed motor....it can go so slow that you can hardly see it move. The down side to this mount is that it's a little harder to climb into to work on the inside, but it's great for the outside work (minus the door jamb area, which will be done later anyway)

Misled that is just great . I have been looking for some kind of rotisserie setup and yours is just what I have been looking for. I have seen a few but they all seem to bolt to floor where you need to be cutting out pieces ! Yours leaves that space open and I would think it would maintain square of cab as you are holding it in place by the door frame. Have you had any cab size shift issues as with this setup you couldn't test fit a door for the rocker replacement? Also are your brackets from door hinge to back door jamb in fixed size? have you tried more than 1 cab to see if it works on a few different Cabs of same year?
How are you attaching to the back door jamb?
Why the third center wheel on each side?
Sorry for so many questions but I see possibilities here?
Do you have any measurements for that thing?

I won't know for sure about any cab shift issues for a couple weeks for sure, when I put the doors on, but.....

One of the reasons for the 3rd wheel is when I disconnect the ends from each other, they can sit upright and not fall. I used this for the frame when I first built it and late one night, the "motor" end fell over, trapping my arm and me on the floor....I thought my arm was broken......

The other is to reduce the inward stress from gravity.

Before I cut out any metal, I did A LOT of squaring and measuring from the cross bars and jotted the figures down. While welding it back in, I checked and rechecked all figures. It seems that all the measurements are OK, but the true test will be door fit.

The front is connecetd to the door hinges and the back to the striker plate holes (big fender washers inside).

I have only used it for my son's frame and and cab. A friend of mine wants to be next in line. Last year he bought a one owner COPO Camaro and wants me to build a rack for the body. I AM SCARED TO DEATH OF THAT!!!!!! Eventually, my 78 2wd stepside will hang from it.

I havent taken measurements yet......my problem being my wing it as you go fab skills......that usually bites me in the behind!!!!!
