Thumpr Cams
Comp Cams has a new line of cams aimed at sounding mean. They would be great sounding cams for cruizin or scaring ricer cars. I'm not a cam wizard, but by reading other forums it seems that they would be a dog at the strip without NOS. I think it's too exspensive just to have a radical sound, but others might differ. Heres a link that have sound clips of open exhaust.

Re: Thumpr Cams
I saw those awhile back, so the last time I called comp for a cam recommendation for my 383 I asked the tech about those thumpr cams. He said they're designed to sound good, but won't make great power. He said if you're going to shell out the dough to upgrade to a roller cam, you'd be smarter to pick a grind that works well with your combo instead of just making noise. I would be curious to see just what kind of power they produce though, they do sound pretty nasty.

Re: Thumpr Cams
I prefer something that is fast vs something that just sounds fast.
Does that make me the Anti Riced? |

Re: Thumpr Cams
My first thought when I read about those cams was "Why not just get a Type-R sticker and call it done?"

Re: Thumpr Cams
Just richen up the idle, then poke a hole in the muffler with a tire tool.

Re: Thumpr Cams
You wouldn't believe (or maybe you would) the people that ask me "Man what kinda motor you got on that bad boy!" because my exhaust has a leak and the muffler is rotten.
