New to the club

The three year search is now over. As of last night I officially joined the GMC Jimmy club and it is a 2wd 307/ 350 with a single wall top and 12 bolt rear that I bought from fellow board member DownLowHoe aka Jeff. I know you all want pics but all I have right now are the same ones in that were posted in the for sale. I will get more later. As for plans go through brake and fuel lines and electrical for safety. A front end rebuild and a valve adjustment to clear up some lifter noise after that I am not sure right now.

Re: New to the club

I am so ready to make the 4X4 K5 a 2wheeler! I do not care about the actual value of a rare 2wd or the lesser value of a 4X convert, I just like the look of a low to go K5. I have a couple of BBc and a 73 and up front suspention crossmember, I could do it in like a weekend. DOH I have to sellit!! I have three short bed trucks 14X4, 2 2wd, and this Blazer and the wife says all must go (I say I'll try to sell, yeah right!) I like the 4X4 view, from up here, but the low 2wd view is almost too tempting. Nice ride man, put a 4-5speed in it and a 350/454 and have fun for the rest of us!!

Re: New to the club

It does need some "cosmetic surgery" under the hood and interior, but the frame was rust free and either powder coated or painted and the underside was almost rust free not the usual swiss cheese tubs that I have turned down before.

Re: New to the club

Yea I know but Im kinda torn I like the chevy front ends better, and that is the only thing keeping it from being an all original truck because it still has the 307 in it.

Got a new dash pad installed today after work. Hopefully, I can get a little more int. work done. Then next weekend the top comes off for the Good Guys Jacksonville show.

Re: New to the club

Thanks, it is not a pearl like yours but when the time comes it will be HOK Tangelo Pearl and some type of 5 spoke wheel. I love the work you have done to yours and is the inspiration for mine minus the extensive metal work. Cant wait to see yours done.

Re: New to the club

Well it has been almost a year not quite since this thread was posted, but I sold my yellow truck a month ago, and the Harley left the driveway today. I am so sad, but now I have more room in the one car garage, and can focus on my last and only toy. Since I sold off my others, this baby is staying right at home. The only thing I have done to it is redo the center console back to original with some duplicolor interior paint and installed a black vinyl dash pad. Next plan is to get it started and running again.
