1969 GMC cablights
Are these rare because I cannot find them anywhere and its not like i can just take them off because the cab is formed to them. It was my grandfathers truck with a factory 396 and we want to keep it as original looking as possible, does anyone know where to find them.

Re: 1969 GMC cablights
you can get them on e-bay from time to time.
They were for 69 and 70 trucks only. In 71, they went to a sloped design, but they'll fit on the same rubber mounting pad. They were used from 71 till 92 or so. I have found a clear lense that fits on your factory piece too if you are interested. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=207070 |

Re: 1969 GMC cablights
Welcome to the board from sunny Seattle. You will find lots of help on here. I am not sure if truckandcarshop.com carries them or perhaps LMC but you could check them as well. Someone might come up with a set on the board here as well. If find that if you long enough something will turn up.
How about posting some pics of your truck! Stock restos are my favorite...keep the faith!

Re: 1969 GMC cablights
Grandpa trucks are cool.... Here is the 71 & up lights, looks like a firemans hat. They are real common, if fact I have the same ones on my 85 chevy truck.

The lights are made by "Guide".Check with a parts house that handle those.

Re: 1969 GMC cablights
no one makes the hockey pucks, they have been out of production for a long time.
I think I saw a set on the parts board the other day for 100 bucks. |

What kinda shape do you want your replacements lenses to be in. I have these if they'll do? They are well used.

Re: 1969 GMC cablights
You can still get the new smooth/hat style & new rubber seals from your GM dealer.
Someone on the parts board did list a new set of NOS of the original style, like yours. $100 is a fair price. I have paid over $20 ea plus shipping to get the last few I needed to complete a set. |
