Re: tac dash f/s

Hi, I would like to be next in line if byrd doesn't take it. But does anyone know how or where I could get a new printed circuit for it? Thanks

Re: tac dash f/s

A couple more questions. I have a 1967 SWB. If the tach dash didn't come out of a 67' is it still compatible? Also would you have to put a 67'-68' printed circuit back in it? Could someone please let me know what you would have to do to make it all work correctly in a 67'? Also is there a difference between a 6 cylinder tach & an 8 cylinder tach? Thanks

Re: tac dash f/s

A factory tach dash will work in any 67-72 that was built for the optional gauges---temp, alt, oil. You can convert the base style 2 gauge cluster ---see the writeup on GMCPaul's web site.
There were two tach's for light trucks ie. 6cyl and 8cyl. You can attempt to adjust for the other via a potentiometer in the rear of the tach but they had different part numbers with different component content in design.

Re: tac dash f/s

sending you a pm 72swbcamo .
it came out of a c-60 it did not have a eng. so i don't know if it was a 6cyl or 8cyl. it does have the 80 lb oil pressure gauge because all the big trucks have the 80 lb gauge or so i have been told.

Re: tac dash f/s

I believe that 6cyl or 8 cyl is usually printed on the back of the tach itself. You may have to loosen the circut board to take a look.

Yeah, if it's for V8, it'll say "8cyl". Sixes say nothing.
