Smile Show me your outside camper mirors please

I'm looking to replace my ' western ' style camper mirrors. ( pictured )
These mirrors BLIND SPOT, SO MUCH from front / side ( almost 70 degrees ) from my vision.
Funny thing is , these are as USEFULL as they are designed to be -
but -
they are also just as much a hinderence to blind spots!
would you please post your mirrors/
I noticed alot of 80's Chevy vans, ( chrome mirrors ) but I believe they are electric ?
thanks ,
jim

This is the mirror I'd like to use .
Any feedback from any drivers with this mirror ?

Re: Show me your outside camper mirors please

If you will be drilling holes for new go to Auto parts store that carries Grote mirrors. They have a good quality mirror like in the picture above(the bottom arms are not as long as factory). When bolted on they do not shake and wobble like the cheap 4 post camper mirrors from Whitney and the like.

Re: Show me your outside camper mirors please

Sorry to hear about the blind spots! I was looking forward to using them on my pickup, but now I'm not so sure.

Here's a pic of my Blazer:

I was going to get a set of those for my 4x4, I like the old style look. It sure doesn't look like they would have a blind spot (darn). Yours are mounted lower than the other ones I've seen.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe these may be the factory 1971 originals.

Re: Show me your outside camper mirors please

Just got off work ( 10 pm.)Thanks everyone for your comments !

I added a pic, of the mirror I want to use,,..
also, I'm assuming since these mount lower - there is less of a blind spot.
My problems with the current mirrors are:
1. excessive blind spots, combined with the wing window post ,
( ... and they have been moved back , closer to the wing window uprights by PO's, they just bondo'd the
mounting holes in the upper door frame )
2. shake going down the road.
3. Too much stress flex on the outer door skin, easy to strip out bolts when periodic re- tightening,
4. change can be good,
thanks

any user feedback ?

Re: outside camper mirors UPDATE

Finally mounted my 2 - 80's style mirrors.
my wonderful neighbor , lent me his nut-riveting tool( with a step drill I dilled a 3/8" hole ( 4 steps ) & rivet mounted the hidden nuts. didn't need to remove the inner door panel. additional mounting bolts etc, below X two.

Each side required:
2 - 3" SS bolts,
3 - flat rubber washers ( 2 pac= $0.92)
3 - SS flat washers,
3 - large nylon spacers,
Lots easier to see, & swing-a-way to boot. !
NO ADDED BLIND SPOTS, like the california style western mirrors & wing window divider produced.
drivers side mirror is flat, passenger side is convex. BIG & WIDE VISION even with camper sticking out... Glad I switched..
total price around 99 dollars day & 1/2 labor
of course I'll now add a filler piece, but for now rock solid I spiffy
