New Kid in Seattle w/ ???
Howdie to all. Well, I'm hoping I've figured out how to post a thread. 1st thanks to KRUE & ROD for helping w/ some questions right outta the gate. I've confirmed w/ Rod my GMC truck IS a 70', 3/4 ton from Fremont, OH. I found it in 99 & snapped it right up (after a month of coaxing its previous owner). I'm putting up a few pics & I got it the way it is in the pics- it used to be met green. Love the truck; runs great, no rust, no leaks & no errors mostly. BUT, if anyone knows; were all GMCs of my year fitted with dual headlights?? Mine has single headlights. Found this site trying to track down decoding for the VIN before I start ordering stuff; I'm getting ready to start some detailing to it, mats, door panels, windsheild & other odds & ends, but also wanted to put a 'GMC' grille back on it. Can that be done without changing the whole grille out to dual headlight system?? Finding I'm pretty ignorant about all the subtle & not so subtle differences btwn Chevys & GMCs & glad I found this site. I also belong to the 'Old Plymouth Owners Club'. I did a restore (not frame off) on my 51' Plym Savoy Suburban Wgn in 05'/06' that turned out nice & just bought a very clean 67' Fiat 1500 Cabriolet, all stock/no rust, that I'm fixin to go thru - it sat in a garage the last 10-12 yrs. GuessI just like the old ones. Appreciate if anyone can help educate me re the headlight stuff. Thanks - Later.

Re: New Kid in Seattle w/ ???
Welcome to the board from South Mississippi! Looks like a typical aftermarket grill with chevy headlights. It depends on whether your fenders are GMC or Chevy on how easy it will be to go back with the GMC grill (which is a great idea in my opinion).

Yup, your in the northwest, all wet. Welcome from Bellingham.
I would change the rest and look all Chevy. Don't like the GMC front looks myself.

Re: New Kid in Seattle w/ ???
Welcome from Vienna, Austria. That's a nice looking truck. There is a rash of our year trucks being stolen in your area, keep a close eye on it.

Re: New Kid in Seattle w/ ???
Welcome from the south end of the sound.... All GMC's had dual headlights. What a sweet truck, know what color it interior was painted? That color would look nice on one of mine.
