Pretty easy. Get the universal manual choke kit at the local parts store (or a reasonable facsimile), rip off the old bimetallic coil & the rod from the coil to the choke lever (assuming you have such a setup; if you have an electric choke, there should be mounts in the kit to convert from electric to manual). Attach the choke cable mount (mine looks like a squashed Z) to the lowest point on the choke lever when the choke is open. I've found if you tilt the mount towards the front of the engine, the choke tends to stay open with slack in the choke cable.

Before you attach the choke cable to the choke, you have to find a good spot in the cab to mount the knob. Once you have a good spot, route the cable through the firewall, down the left valve cover, around the front of the carb (leave plenty of room for wiring, vacuum & gas lines, and hoses), and attach the cable to the mount. Spray the exposed cable with a bit of WD40, and tweak the cable to yield solid opening & closing of the choke without binding.

It's a decent-looking work truck. No top-end, but it's great off the line.
