Please help me find a paint booth!! I want to get back to the trucks!!!!
Hey all!!!
I'm looking for help to finish the '56 Bel Air so tha I can move on and get another truck again!. What I really need is help finding a paint booth I can rent in Houston. I have a great painter that agreed to paint the car again (who painted the car the first time), but I don't want to go back to his employer to get the work finished(bad business, as I talked about here a long time ago). I just welded and smoothed the firewall (burning my eyes in the process). So these are the things that need to be done to be finished: 1. Clean up firewall. 2. Primer firewall, primer hood (both sides) 3. Paint firewall, and underside of hood. 4. Reinstall engine/tranny. 5. Reassemble front end. 6. Fix dents on fenders while on body (driverside got pushed in a little, so reassembly should happen for alignment purposes). 7. Paint the fenders and hood on car, blend. Does anyone know of a good shop where I could have them fix the fenders, then rent their paint booth and have my own painter paint the car in Houston. I know it is a lot to ask, but I am so close to finally finishing the car, but I seem to be at a large road hump that I can't seem to get past. I really need to finish the car! Please help me with this problem! I would be eternally grateful! Shawn

A bunch of bad things at once... Spring broke on carb, sticking wide open throttle... then before I could turn off the car the tranny dropped into gear. I wasn't even completely in the car. I had to avoid the house (10 ft from front bumper) turned down the driveway (between the house and nighbors fence). The end of thedrive has an iron gate and the Trailblazer SS on the other side, I was headed straight for them, so I decided to put the car into a tree to avoid wrecking anything else. The car was wide open throttle the whole time and left tire marks down the drive. The tree was 35 ft from the front bumper of the car. I never even had time to hit the brakes. I barely got my feet in the car! Sad day. It was the day before the maiden voyage of the car... At least it didn't happen with my wife and daughter in te car and I didn't run into anyone on the street. THe most important thing is noone got hurt!

I wish you good luck, butIi think you're going to have a hard time finding a body shop that will do the repair work, then have you bring your guy in to do the paint work. I hope I'm wrong, but I've worked in 2 shops and neither would even think about that.............Jerry
