Pro street back half ??
Hi, I'm a new guy on the board. My boy and I are going to pro street his 69 LB.We're going to back half it and change it to a SB in the process. My question is , are you guys using 2x3 or 2x4 tubing? Also on coilover shocks whats a good spring rate to get me in the ballpark? THANKS Joe K

Joe,
to the board.... You might get some inspiration from this thread: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ighlight=frame I'm sure there are others also. There is a search button towards the top of the main page on the right side. Try typing in pro street then tick the show posts circle... LockDoc

Re: Pro street back half ??
The frames on our trucks are pretty narrow, I'm just guessing here, but I would think you could just narrow the rear end and be good to go

Your going to have to put it all together, weigh it and then chose a spring rate from there to do it right. If you can find a chassis shop around you, they should have a old set of springs kicking around for you to use untill you have your final setup. Also the length of the spring will have alot to do with the rate needed.

i am putting 18.5x33 tires in my 68 without backhalving. In fact the factory suspension will work with tires about 16.5 inches wide, just c notch the frame
