Just thought I would share a few pictures so our southern members could see how lucky they are not having to drive in this. I have put about 700 miles on my K5 already this week and will be putting on another 600 miles before Saturday. Some on pipeline roads and some on salt covered highways. How bad can it be? I am getting paid to drive my favorite ride.

Wash it!

I drove mine around here when we got hit by snow (not nearly that much though). It sure did handle well.

It's pictures like that, that make me happy my burb is tucked away in the garage; it'll never see snow again. That's what the '91 Jimmy is for.
Besides that, it would be a snow plow...probably do a better job of clearing the roads than the city.

I could never do that.I think I`m going to get sick...

I had a nice rustfree Blazer in the early`80s and,back then,I would not run it in the salt.Washing out gets most of it,but it`s hard to know what`s left in nooks`n`crannies.The problem,also,is when can you wash it all winter?Your rinse water freezes with diluted salt in it.Open those drains in those torque boxes and flush,flush,and then flush some more.Maybe spray some used motor oil thinned with kerosene after that.

We call that wheeling around here, and you get paid to do it!! Only differance, there seems to be 2' boulders in the way.

Still one of the sweetest Blazers around, let the next owner worry about the rust 30 years down the road. J.

PS that is a good idea on the kerosene, oldtimer across the street used to add a capfull of kero every time he washed his car

I always wished I could have a cabin in the wilderness and keep a Blazer in the garage in waiting.Then,I could crap up some newer thing getting there,then run around roads like that in the Blazer.I like to go out around here on my road and surrounding dirt roads before the plow/salt trucks hit them.We`re usually last(county line).In blizzards the dairy farmer up the road usually takes care of our road with his turbo IH backin`into a tail-plow and someone on a skid-steer cleaning up to get the milk tanker in by day-2.
