Bob,
Any 73-87 truck or 73-91 Suburban, Blazer rear end will work. Heck you can even put a dually rearend if you want four tires!! I would go for the older 12 bolt rearends over the 81+ 10 bolts. I swapped my stock 83 10 bolt for an older 12 bolt rear end. Gear ranges from 2.72 to 4.11 are available too. |

dually rear wont bolt in because on those and on 4x4's the spring pad spacing is ony 40", yous is 42.5"
a 64-72 leaf rear wil bolt in under you truck, nut there are too problems with doing that: you must then use the 73-up Ubolts and plates, and also youl have to move one shock mount on one side only. U joints may differ, maybe, depends on year and axe and yoke style. but conversion joints can be bought for anything nowadays good luck 10 bolt ratios: 2.73(early to mid 80s mainly), 3.08(all years), 3.42(80;s and 90'), 3.73(unknown) 12 bolt: 2.76(not sure when), 3.07(all years), 3.40(around '77), 3.73(unknown) Last edited by Fast68Chevy; 08-30-2002 at 08:39 PM. |
