5 lug conversion need help

i bought a 71 and i am taking all the parts off to convert my 69 to 5 lug and was wondering on a 6 lug 12 bolt axle can i use the 5 lug and slide them into my 6 lug gears i just had them redone less than a year ago and really would like to keep my 6 lug gears but switch out with 5 lug setup what would i need for this to be done correctly

I don't think so. The axles in the 6 lug rear are a little bit narrower and won't reach. So, the axles in the s lug rear are a little too long and cause brake alignment issues. As far as I know,

I bought the Classic performance products kit for about 400 bucks and it worked really well and came with new drums and a backing plate gasket. I recommend this
