Look what came into work v.2 (wrecked c10)

Just came in today, probably another c10 that'll sell for under 750.

That looks like it was a nice daily driver. Is the frame bent? Wish I were closer.BTW there's well over $750.00 worth of parts there.

Insurance company totaled it off, dude got a fat check for it. I intend on buying it for around $500.

Not sure if the frame is bent or not, was under it today to verify that it had a TH350. I didn't really see any bends in the frame. When the truck was hit, the bed mounts were sheered off at the bolts.

Man, good for you, if the frame isn't bent you can make a nice truck out of that.

Re: Look what came into work v.2 (wrecked c10)

LOcal wrecking yard picked up a 3/4 ton for $50. The only thing wrong with it was a freeze plug popped out of the block. The tilt column and steerign wheel were in mint conditon, the owner of the yard would not let me get within 100' of the truck once I told him how much that stuff was worth, and that I was looking for it. He sold the truck 3 days later for $1500 as is.

Re: Look what came into work v.2 (wrecked c10)

Hey 1BadSS ... do me a favor ... look at that steering wheel and let me know if there is an 1/8" to a 1/4" gap between it and the column.

I have a very similar wheel (early 70's Camaro SS) and it has the gap and I can't quite figure out why.

Many Thanks!

This could indicate that the frame might be bent.

The bed mounts are sheered off, you can lift that side of the bed up with one hand.

Re: Look what came into work v.2 (wrecked c10)

Hey, I hear ya Masterbeavis..I once did a similar thing - when I was 19 I put a wanted add out for a '66-'67 nova. well a guy responded saying he had an SS! I took a look and it was all in pieces, but all there. he only wanted $1500 for all of it , but at the time I knew nothing of how to put the car together, so I walked away...
Can you believe it !!?? a 4 speed numbers matching car with a 300hp 327. the old guy took it apart years ago and wasn't in shape enough to put it together again... a few short years later I realized my mistake. ..unfortunately there is no happy ending to this story...
I have made mistakes before when I was younger...But this girl was the Prom Queen, ..and I had her in the back seat!!

I've never lived it down
