Anyone have pics of different year spindles?

I'm getting ready to order some drop spindles and a rebuild kit for my 69 lwb. The PO put disk brakes up front, but i have no clue what year of truck he pulled them from. the truck was also a 3/4T, but the PO converted everything to 1/2T. It is also 5 lug all the way around.

Does anyone have some pics of the various different chevy truck spindles? from what i understand, the differences are not huge, but it makes a difference when ordering parts. if you could also point out some of the differences, that would be ideal.

my truck is 2 hrs away, so i can't take pics right now to show what i have.

thanks!

Re: Anyone have pics of different year spindles?

i had my dad write down any numbers he could see after pulling the wheel. So far all he could see were some numbers on the rotor. Here's what he got:

Min Thick 1.215
3963998
C1191
K-8

i did a quick google search for those numbers, and came back with nothing. There is probably a good chance that he may have mis-read one of those casting numbers.

he's gonna take another look and see if he can find a number on the spindle after dinner

heh, actually, i'll be there in a couple weeks for my brother bachelor party.

if you could just tell me where the part number is on the spindle, that would help.

Re: Anyone have pics of different year spindles?

I can probably narrow it down for you if you'll answer 3 questions for me:

Are the upper ball joints still riveted in or are they bolted in?

Are the control arm bushings steel screw in or rubber press in?

Approximately how long is the front brake hose?

Re: Anyone have pics of different year spindles?

ok, so i pulled the rotor and backing plate off and the only number i see is:

481 LH IN

the 8 is hard to read, so it might be a 6.

other than that, i don't see any numbers. I'll take a pic and post it up here shortly.

Re: Anyone have pics of different year spindles?

I have a 69 that's been retrofitted with 5-lug front disk brakes of unknown origin. I was replacing a master cyl and booster and no parts places listed 5 lug front disk brake setup. After a week of searching, I found one knowlegable Chevy guy that asked me "are the disk brake spindle mounts for the caliper "molded" or "bolted" on? If they're molded, it's 71 or 72. If it's bolted it's a 70. (The reason he needed to know that is because the caliper piston sizes are different, necessitating a different size master cylinder piston diameter. )

From the looks of yours in the pictures above, I'd say yours are 71 or 72, like mine.
